Nifty opens above 8200, Sensex firm; ITC, Bharti, Infosys losers --- 1 Dec 2016

The market has opened firm as the Sensex is up 79.42 points or 0.3 percent at 26732.23. The Nifty is up 19.50 points or 0.2 percent at 8244.00. About 424 shares have advanced, 104 shares declined, and 28 shares are unchanged. 

ONGC, Cipla, Axis Bank and HDFC twins are gainers while Tata Motors, Bharti, ITC, Bajaj Auto and Infosys are losers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade. It has opened lower by 10 paise at 68.48 per dollar versus previous close 68.38.

                                           

The 30-share index was trading 60 points higher or 0.23 per cent at 26,713. It touched a high of 26,769.32 and a low of 26,644.39 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,247 up 22 points or 0.28 per cent. It touched a high of 8,248.80 and a low of 8,221.20 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 



The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.29 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.54 per cent higher. 

RIL (up 1.7 per cent), ONGC (up 3.2 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.72 per cent) and GAIL (up 3 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers. 

Tata Motors (down 1.3 per cent), ITC (down 0.41 per cent), Infosys (down 0.2 per cent), and Asian Paints (down 0.82 per cent) were among the major Sensex losers.
