Nifty below 8000, Sensex flat; L&T up 4%, Wockhardt tanks 3% -- 23 Nov 2016

                                     

The Sensex is down 17.27 points at 25943.51, and the Nifty down 8.85 points at 7993.45. About 1118 shares have advanced, 634 shares declined, and 87 shares are unchanged. 


The 30-share index was trading 30 points higher or 0.10 per cent at 25,984. It touched a high of 26,130.49 and a low of 25,979.86 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,005 up 4 points or 0.04 per cent. It touched a high of 8,055.20 and a low of 8,001.05 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.12 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.28 per cent higher. 

L&T (up 2.8 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.2 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 1.05 per cent), Power GridBSE -1.55 % (up 0.91 per cent), and Asian Paints (up 0.92 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers. 

SBI (down 1 per cent), M&M (down 0.63 per cent), WiproBSE -0.89 % (down 0.5 per cent), ONGCBSE -0.49 % (down 0.40 per cent), and Maruti Suzuki (down 0.38 per cent) were among the major Sensex losers.
